What size enclosed trailer do I need?

For one or two motorcycles, a 3.0m–3.6m single axle enclosed trailer is usually enough. Trades and event equipment generally suit a 4.2m–5.0m tandem axle trailer, while house moves and business transport are best served by a 6.0m tandem with a 3,500kg ATM. Can I carry motorcycles in a MotoCampers trailer?

Yes. Every MotoCampers enclosed trailer can be fitted with wheel chocks, recessed floor tie-down points and a full-width rear ramp door, so bikes roll straight in and are secured without straps rubbing bodywork.

Are enclosed trailers waterproof?

Our enclosed trailers are fully sealed with a one-piece roof, sealed side and rear door seals and riveted seams, so contents stay dry in Queensland downpours. They are weatherproof for road use rather than submersible.

Do I need electric brakes on an enclosed trailer?

Accepted Answer

In Queensland, any trailer over 750 kg ATM requires brakes and anything over 2,000 kg ATM requires electric brakes with a breakaway system. Single axle MotoCampers trailers use hydraulic override brakes matched to their load, while tandem axle models are supplied with electric brakes and a breakaway system as standard.

What ATM options are available?

We build to 1,400kg, 2,000kg, 2,800kg and 3,500kg ATM. Choose the rating based on the trailer's own weight plus the heaviest load you intend to carry, and keep it within your tow vehicle's rated towing capacity.

Can I customise a trailer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Length, height, ATM, door configuration, shelving, workbenches, ply or checkerplate lining, LED lighting, 12V or 240V power, roof vents and colour can all be specified before build.

Can I inspect a trailer before buying?

Absolutely. Book an inspection at our Gold Coast location and walk through the build, chassis, brakes and finish in person before you commit.
